Q:  What is a freethinker?

A:  A dictionary definition is a person who forms opinions on the

      basis of reason, independent of authority or tradition, specially

      a person whose religious opinions differ from established belief.


     

      RAFT uses “freethinker” as an umbrella term for any

      person who identifies as atheist, agnostic, humanist,

      skeptic, secular, and/or nonreligious.


Q:  Are you all atheists?

A:  RAFT members include atheists, agnostics, humanists, skeptics,

      secularists, and other nonreligious identities.  We welcome

      people of any belief who want to participate in our activities

      in a positive way.


Q:  What does RAFT do?

A:  RAFT has three types of regularly occurring activities:

      educational, social and community service.


     

      Our primary educational activity is our monthly meeting which

      features speakers, presentations, and discussions.

      We also have a monthly book club.


     

      Our social activities include movie night, happy hour,

      and coffee time.


     

      Our community service activities include the Rochester

      Regional STEM Fair (we fund prizes and provide judges)

      and support of  United Way’s Running Start for School.

Q:  What is the cost to participate in RAFT?

A:  Individual activities have no cost and are open to everyone.

      Annual membership is available with a $25

      tax deductible donation.
